"I make slab built pieces of tableware treating clay like a printed fabric, exploring the play of incidental patterns on both edge and overlap. I gained my degree in Applied Arts from Plymouth College of Art in 1998 and have been producing work on this theme since that time. I built my own workshop in 2002, next to my home in the village of Ermington in South Devon. I combine working from there with a part-time job as a technician in the Ceramics department at Plymouth College of Art."

"Recently I have been experimenting with new shapes and patterns, mixing contrasting influences which has expanded my range into new directions."

 

Fiona's recent work includes a wide range of stylish, contemporary tableware using her unique designs using incidental patterns. She is currently working on a new collection for the The Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey in June.
